Had an enjoyable couple of days covering the 30th birthday celebrations of my little local the Hebden Bridge Trades Club. Despite many ups and downs over the last 30 years, the Trades Club maintains its place as one of the best little live music venues in the north. A friendly, egalitarian and welcoming venue to it's members and guests alike, it is a credit to the people of the Calder valley.

A varied collection of musicians, bands and entertainers gave their time for free to perform, with all donations going towards upgrading the PA system. Performers included old faces and new, some having played since the early days of the club, with others representing the new wave of musicians.

Bands and musicians appearing over the two day event included (in no particular order) Fez, Maia the Band, Creedy, Gary Boyle & Roger Higgins, Will Kaufman, and Brouhaha. The live performances were closed by long time local Ska band Owter Zeds, who brought the place to their feet. On both nights the celebrations went late into the evening with music from a range of DJ's.
