Flooding in the Calder Valley and the North of England

Whatever natural and man-made factors contributed to it, the recent flooding in our local area has affected a many local residents and businesses. The floods were probably the worst in over twenty years, in a place which has always had problems with management of its waterways, and for people who are used to the problem on a regular basis.

The current fickle (read: wet) weather kept away to make for a nice day for people competing in Overgate Hospice 's Mountain Bike Challenge, a 22 mile slog up and down the hills of the South Pennines.

"Incredible Edible Todmorden and Handmade Parade present Todmorden's Incredible Pollination Parade."
The culmination of workshops and work from several groups and community volunteers, the Parade was a great success, and ended in the Todmorden Outdoor Market, with the Todmorden Tea Party.
